BLUE HUED BOO

Kehlani Inspired Make Up using the Makeup Revolution Unicorns Are Real Eyeshadow Palette

Hi guys! I AM SO EXCITED to finally launch my BEAUTY SECTION for LifeonaMat! For those who follow me on my snapchat ya'll know that I always go out on the weekends and always wear a girly, high shine, glossy look. Well now I have a new place to post all of my beauty finds for skin, hair, nails, and anything makeup related. I always get questions about how i do my makeup, making tutorials, or what products i use so i want to share that as well as support small businesses. there's more to come, just stay tuned!

For me, beauty is something that was inspired by the women in my life, especially my mom. Growing up, I used to watch her put on concealer, lipstick, blush, and curl her lashes. She was the definition of a 90's Working Girl. In fact, I've kept some of her makeup brushes and her eyelash curler as a keepsake to always remember how she always got ready in the mornings, making a living for us and looking beautiful while doing it. for me, those tools symbolize self confidence. my mom taught me that its important to sometimes create a polished look. but she also stressed the natural look and let me use just chapstick for school with a little "just for me" product in my hair! lol

As a young girl, I was much less feminine because I wasn't really allowed to wear makeup until high school. but I started putting on mascara and liner in the sixth or seventh grade in the school bathrooms. i remember wanting pink lip tint in the first grade! And now that I'm older, i appreciate the natural look as well!

To me, beauty is about taking care of yourself, feeling confident, and finding a look that works for you. there are many trends in the makeup industry, but i believe in channeling those trends into a more natural look. less is more, unless the night calls for it.

For this blue hued look, I WAS inspired by this MAKE UP FOR EVER AQUA XL COLOR COLLECTION worn by kehlani. I used one of my favorite eye shadows from the Makeup Revolution Unicorns Are Real Eyeshadow Palette. I'm so into blue, indigo, and purple lately. The palette was only $7 from Ulta. It's a must try for all skin types. it's non-chalky but buildable. the secret to making the pigment pop is spraying your brush with a little mac Prep + Prime Fix + Finishing Mist. then finish with the gorgeous Dark star 006 dark matter kit astral white pigment on the center of the lids.
