I PUT MILK AND HONEY ON MY TABLE AS A WAY TO ALWAYS COME BACK TO LOVE AND TO EMBODY THE PERSON THAT I WANT TO BE. SOMETIMES WHEN WE’RE DOWN, WE MUST REACH OUT AND RUPI CONSISTENTLY SPEAKS OF THIS SISTERHOOD.
BLACK ON BLACK ON BLACK. I LOVED GOING UP THE STAIRS, EACH STEP READING INSPIRATIONAL LYRICS FROM REMY MA AND FAT JOE. INSIDE THE STUDIO ROOM, IT'S DIM. ONLY LIT BY CANDLES. IT SETS THE MOOD FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT.
TODAY'S POST IS A VISUAL RECAP OF MY TIME IN MANHATTAN. I REALLY ENJOYED GETTING TO RUN AROUND THE CITY AND EXPLORE SOME GREAT PLACES TO EAT, LEARN, AND WORK OUT. WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY TO NY, WE GOT STUCK IN ATLANTA! BUT I HAD TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT AND NAVIGATE MY TRIP AROUND THE TIME I HAD LEFT. LIFE HAPPENS! IT'S A BUNCH OF BAGUETTES!
WHILE I WAS IN ATLANTA THIS PAST MONTH, I MADE TIME TO MAKE IT TO A YOGA CLASS! AND BOY WAS IT SO HARD! I TOOK A SHUTTLE AND MADE MY WAY TO HOTLANTA YOGA. IT WAS ANOTHER VINYASA CLASS, BUT IT CENTERED AROUND A STRONG WORKOUT BUILT FOR "ATHLETES" AND MORE ADVANCED YOGIS.
So last year, I had the opportunity to try yoga in seven cities and enjoyed every bit of it! My goal this year is to continue doing yoga in the places that I visit. This past month, I really enjoyed going to Yoga Six in Chicago's sophisticated South Loop. I've been to a lot of studios and I'd have to say that this one was one of my favorites!
AHHH! WHAT A CRAZY EXPERIENCE AFTER HAVING DONE THE SPARTAN RACE IN FLORIDA THIS WEEKEND! IT WAS SUCH A GOOD CHALLENGE, BUT MY MUSCLES WERE EXTREMELY TIGHT AFTERWARDS. I WAS SO SORE! BUT LUCKY ME, I WAS ABLE TO FIND A YOGA STUDIO NEARBY, DHARMA STUDIO! THANK GOODNESS IT WAS A GENTLE STRETCHING YOGA CLASS, NOTHING TO INTENSE.
I MADE IT OUT TO LA JUST BEFORE THANKSGIVING TO VISIT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND IT WAS A NICE GETAWAY FOR SURE. AS SOME READERS MAY HAVE NOTICED, I LOVE TO TRY YOGA IN NEW PLACES, IT GIVES ME A BETTER PERSPECTIVE IN MY PRACTICE AND I FEEL LIKE I'M IN MY ELEMENT.
As a yogi, I like to travel, but it’s important to get practice in no matter where life takes us. Life on the mat is possible. You can be anywhere in the world and still find your peace, serenity, and health if you make it part of your wellness plan and lifestyle. Practicing yoga has brought me many great adventures.
I only had two days in New Orleans to explore the Cajun cooking and fit a good yoga class into my schedule. I signed up for the R2 Class at Reyn Studio off Magazine Street. It’s an open space style studio with brick pillars and large mirrors.
You guys! I had the best time at Sky Candy in Austin! I went with a big Bachelorette Party and we learned how to move our bodies in the air by hanging from silk sheets and hoops attached to the ceiling! When we arrived to the class we started off with a warm-up and stretch.
I don’t think I’m ready for Cirque du Soleil, but I gained a few pointers in my first ever Acro Yoga Class! I spent an afternoon at Barefoot Sanctuary when I went to Las Vegas in August! I was ready to get on the mat and experiment...
They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. New York that is! The Big Apple was so chill! I had such an amazing time exploring Brooklyn. I was excited to see how the yogis do it out there! I had to get in at least one class!
I had such a beautiful time in Surfside, Texas, right on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico! The sun gave me the best tan this summer, I walked along the beach with my cousins, and ate as much as I could, Filipino style!
