THE LOOK

Kimonos are the ultimate street style piece you can wear any season. Lately, I have noticed some many KAWAII (CUTE) KIMONOS. It's really a staple piece to have for those unpredictable weather days or just to clean up your entire look. Following some fashion blogs myself, I see a lot of kimono-inspired jackets for the Fall, as seen on the runway for instance by Etro. I study the way the looks are styled and the various layers of color and texture. It's oversized, long, quilt-like, asymmetrical, glossy. Kimonos are the new trench for sure.

HOW TO STYLE KIMONOS

STATEMENT: Pair a bright kimono over a muted jumpsuit or an all-nude or black ensemble.
CASUAL: People like to freak out over cropped tops in the daytime, so throw a jacquard or geometric print 'mono over it and all will be right in the world.
FLOOR LENGTH: Add real glam to a denim look with heels and long kimono that sweeps the floor, I'd wear this to date night or girl's night.
FLORAL: Especially for the Spring, a floral-embellished kimono is great as a cover up at the beach or an outdoor lunch. Flats are also a plus!
CHEAT: Throw on a colorful satin robe instead like my River Island one. It's so silky and cooling for the summer.
