This Ain't No Yoga Sis! | Transform Colorado Will Kick Your Butt

Hi yogis and friends! I’m back at it, writing in my wellness space to share a little workout nugget with you. No this ain’t your mama’s yoga class! It’s called Transform Colorado. Packed with high energy and intensity, these 30 to 45 minute sessions will help you kick it into gear. Based of the Lagree Method, this spot is all about incorporating cardio and calorie burning exercise. Keeping your heart elevated is the key here. You can either choose the Climbing Method or the Lagree Method when you visit the location. Sebastien Lagree’s Megaformer, also known as the M3, is a machine used to help you tone and burn. The Climbing Method uses the Versaclimber machine to target upper and lower body. It provides no resistance so you have to do all the work!

It was a super chilly Monday morning in Denver, CO. After a night of lager and PacMan, I woke at 6:30 AM knowing I needed to get myself to a workout. If I’m traveling, I usually make it a point to get to a yoga class and learn from the local yogis. It’s a little bit of education and exercise rolled into one. But this time, I wanted to try something different. I wanted to sweat and feel that post-workout high! So I decided to head to Transform. I put on some athleisure and bundled up. I had 20 minutes to get there so I ran…fast! It was a 15 minute walk from the Hotel but I didn’t want to be that late person showing up unprepared. When I arrived, I had to decide between Lagree or Climbing so I chose to climb!

The workout was truly unique. It starts off with a slow build and increases with greater and greater intensity. Music is playing so you can use it to motivate your movement and breath. Our instructor, Allie, was excellent. She showed me proper technique and led us through the warm up with ease. But I was already feeling the burn within the first 10 minutes! The room is dark but there’s this electrifying light pulsing from the ceiling and reflecting through the mirrors, creating a cool strobe-like EDM effect. The workout kept my heart pumping as I used my arms and legs to climb with all my strength and might. I wore a long sleeve and biker shorts, the perfect choice to help me stay warm and cool at the same time! The class is so encouraging because you can see your progress and there’s various ways to challenging yourself. You can turn a nob on the machine to increase or decrease the resistance and there’s monitors that let you know the span of each stroke (or climb) so I pushed hard to go from 4 to 8 when the class fired up. You get a few rest points but you have to keep moving. If all else fails, just keep climbing! After our 30 minutes was up, I felt energized and totally ready to start the day. It was a great experience overall." loading="lazy"/>

The atmosphere is clean and fresh with black and white details and motivational quotes on the stairs! The Lagree Method takes place downstairs and the Climbing Method is on the second floor. The staff is pretty friendly so don’t be afraid to show up and try something new. I didn’t see a lot of faces like mine in the class but I was really proud of myself for giving Transform Colorado a chance. 100% I will be going back and highly recommend it. Class info and pricing can be found here.If you’re in Texas like me and you’re interested in trying it, check out One Lagree in Dallas or The Lagree Studio in Austin!
